Since the earthquake of May 12th in Sichuan, the GDCF Düsseldorf and partners have been able to raise the sum of EUR 7100,- in order to support the Jiuling-school 九岭学校. After consultation with local authorities and in close cooperation with our partner in the field Sichuan Youxie, the money now flows directly into the reconstruction of the school.
The earth in Sichuan does not come to rest. Yesterday our friend Yang Y. reported from Chengdu: “30 minutes ago we had an aftershock of grade 6.1 in Pingwu/Mianyang. Over here in Chengdu we could feel a strong shaking which caused fear. Since May 12th we already had more than 20000 aftershocks.”
The magnitude of the current earthquakes in Sichuan is often between 4 and 6.
One place where they are documented is here in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2008_Sichuan_earthquake_aftershocks

Together with our friends of SIFA organization we found a school in the earthquake-area, where we can apply our help with high momentum.
Soon the Jiuling primary school in Jiangyou will provide a school-education more than 1000 children again. Furthermore, it will be a home for 500 children by hosting them in a student dormitory. All of that thanks to a clear and marketable action-plan with which the school-management came up with.
With the help of our powerfully eloquent friend Peter Eggers (www.eggers-pr.de) we drafted a release for the local press. Of course, it is already much too late to inform the press. Only about 4 weeks to go until the raffle ends.
We will attache the text to this posting.

Introduction-round! We are Xihui and Michael, a Chinese-German couple. Xihui is from Beijing in China and Michael from Dortmund in Germany. We are married and we are now living in Duesseldorf, Germany. Xihui is a fashiondesigner and Michael is an IT consultant. Our common hobby is photography. Xihui is mostly in front of the camera while Michael is usually behind it.
We are starting to think about ways to promote Art&Aid a bit. That’s why we now printed T-shirts, which identify us as ticket-sellers. At this point in time we would like to stress that all costs of this campaign are covered by our sponsors and by ourselves. So we also paid the T-shirts ourselves. The complete money raised by selling tickets goes into the help for Sichuan – without any subtractions.
